his wife.

Book 2:

Stage (London: W.H. Allen, 1952).
A presentation copy from the author to Muriel, the daughter of Sir John and
Lady Martin Harvey,.
'To Muriel Martin-Harvey, a name honoured by me for her sake and thar
of her illustrious father.
All good wishes, Popie (W. Macqueen-Pope) 1952.'
Muriel (Margaret Martin-Harvey) was the only daughter of the Martin Harveys and all of these books belonged to her.

Book 3:
Robert Louis Stevenson, A Child's Garden of Verses (London: Longmans,
Green, 1893; 5th edition)
Given to Muriel by her parents when she was a child (the inscription is in
Muriel's handwriting)

Book 4:
G.K. Chesterton, St. Francis of Assisi (London: Hodder and Stoughton, circa
1924).
Presentation inscription to Sir John by the writer and lawyer R.N. Green-Armytage
(Robert North Green-Armytage), together
with letters about the book, Chesterton and Sir Francis (as possible material
for a play) and other matters.


Book 5:
Mordaunt Shairp, The Green Bay Tree: A Play in Three Acts (London:
George Allen & Unwin, 1933).
Appears to be Shairp's own copy, with his name and address at the front and
cuts to make the play shorter.

Book 6:
Eugene O'Neil, The Hairy Ape, Anna Christie and The First
Man (London: Jonathan Cape, 1930).
