Robert Brough (1828-1860)

Robert Barnabas Brough was a poet, novelist and contributor to periodicals. He is best remembered for his radical book of poems published in 1855, Songs of the Governing Classes. His brother was the playwright William Brough. In 1860 Robert Brough edited the magazine the Welcome Guest for John Maxwell, and was editor at the time of the first contribution by Mary Braddon, but died soon after.
