Mary Elizabeth Braddon

Above and below is one of a number of Braddon letters I have.
This 1891 is to Helen C. Black, best remembered for her book of interviews with writers,
Notable Women Authors of the Day.

Dear Mrs. Black

Many thanks on my daughter's part for the sweet little handkerchief which I shall give her directly she is within easy reach - I know she will be very pleased with it - and on my own part best thanks for the interesting sketches of my contemporaries - which I am reading with much interest.

Very sincerely yours

Mary Maxwell.
