This 1891 letter is to Helen C. Black, best remembered for her book of interviews with writers,
Notable Women Authors of the Day - a volume Braddon declined to appear in.

Many thanks on my daughter's part for the sweet little handkerchief which I shall give her directly she is within easy reach - I know she will be very pleased with it - and on my own part best thanks for the interesting sketches of my contemporaries - which I am reading with much interest.
