Gaiety Theatre, Hastings
The Gaiety Theatre, Hastings is now the Odeon Cinema in Queens Road.
I didn't realise it was still standing, but looked for it this summer for
a theatre historian friend.
Not long after I read an excellent novel called The Prestige by Christopher
Priest, and the theatre features in it
when Alfred Borden goes to see the show of the magician John Henry Anderson
(1814-74) in 1872.
The stage door was located on the left hand side.
