Edward Oxenford

A tinted sixth plate daguerreotype.
Unusually the name of the sitter has been engraved on the frame and the date
of the picture.

E. Oxenford is believed to be Edward Oxenford (c.1823-1893).
Edward Oxenford was born in Camberwell and was the son of Mary Anne and Henry
Oxenford. He was baptised at St. Giles, Camberwell on 28 February 1823.
He married Ruth Preston in Camberwell in 1847.
In 1861 he was a shipping agent living at 5 Grosvenor Place, Walworth.
He was buried in West Norwood Cemetery.
One of his children was the author Edward Oxenford.
