William Barnsdale - Victorian Prisoner
|
This glass negative photograph was taken on 31 May 1901 by a photographer
who took the official record pictures of prisoners entering prison. I was
told the prison was Strangeways Prison.
As it was taken a few months after Queen Victoria died, it is an Edwardian
picture but only just!
Once I reversed the negative, Mr. Cliff's features emerged.
