BROMPTON CEMETERY

Photographs taken 28 May 2005 by Jennifer Carnell.
The mausoleum of Harvey Lewis.
This was probably the Harvey Lewis listed in the 1861 census: he was living
at 24 Grosvenor Square with his wife Jane and three servants. Born in Ireland,
he was at that time age 46 and was a 'Land proprietor and J.P.' (Justice of
the Peace)
Some of the families here have French surnames:
'? Digby buried with Le Chevalier Pierre de Berard 1755 - ?' and Alice Georgina
Carrick.
The grave behind has a similar inscription with Digby and Berard again.
The large mausoleum:
'In loving memory of
Mary Ann Locke Beadell
Widow of William Beadell
Who died February February 2nd 1912(?) in her 82nd(?) year
In ever loving memory of
Mary Ann Beadell,
Daughter of William and Mary Ann Beadell
Who died suddenly March ? 1831(?) , aged 43.
Henry, Dora and Miles Tomalin (1930s & 1980s)
The grave with clear writing is that of Lord Arthur Lennox.
'Cicely
Died
August 11th 1893
Aged
7 months'
I could see no surname on this grave.
