Born 8th April 1788
Died 9th February 1869.'

Director General of the Geological Survey,
Foreign member of the Institute of France,
Member of the Imperial Academy of Sciences of St. Petersburg
And of many other scientific societies
Knight Grand Cross of the Imperial Order of
St. Anne and St. Stanislaus of Russia & c. & c.
Author of "The Silurian System of Rocks"
and of "Russia and the Ural Mountains".
Born at Taradale, Ross-shire 19th February 1792
Died in London, 22nd October 1871.'

And Chief of Her Majesty's Patent Office
Born 20th December 1803, Died 7th February 1879

He was the inventor of the increasing and varying
Pitch screw propellers
Also of the improved ? [letters missing] looms.
The author of several works, and founder
Of the Patent Office Library and Museum.

Agnes Bertha Woodcroft,
Wife of the above.
Born 7th September 1833, Died 10th March 1903.'
