ROADS IN RICHMOND, SURREY
NAMED AFTER NOVELS BY MARY ELIZABETH BRADDON
In his later years, having handed the control of his publishing firm to his sons John and Robert, Maxwell became a successful property developer, building houses in Richmond and other parts of London between the 1870s and 1890s. Some of these roads were named in honour of his wife's novels, including John Marchmont's Legacy and Lady Audley's Secret.
