LYNDHURST, THE
NEW FOREST
A postcard (circa 1900) showing the approach into the village of Bank
from the Lyndhurst Road. Many of the properties in Bank were built by Mary
Braddon and John Maxwell.
'Miss Braddon's Cottage at Lyndhurst.'
The house was small to begin with, but was extended over the years.
The approach road to Annesley at the hamlet of Bank.
'Miss Braddon's New Forest Home at Bank'
Postcard sent from Lyndhurst in 1904.
A colour version of the postcard.
Annesley Bank later became a Barnardo's home for children.
By coincidence, Braddon was a contributing writer for a book published to
raise money for the Barnardo Fund.
